Managed trade settlement and billing exceptions across 150+ hedge fund and investment firm clients spanning North America and EMEA. Root cause analysis on recurring billing discrepancies cut the outstanding balance from $6M to $1.4M and lifted straight-through processing rates across the portfolio.

The problem

Billing discrepancies and settlement exceptions had built up across J.P. Morgan’s Prime Financial Services client base, with the outstanding balance sitting at $6M. Each exception meant a client relationship at risk and a slower settlement cycle.

What I did

I ran root cause analysis across the four lines of business I managed, tracing recurring discrepancies back to their source rather than clearing them one by one. I used the findings to fix the underlying process gaps and kept senior stakeholders at affected hedge funds and investment firms updated through monthly metrics reviews.

Outcome

The outstanding balance dropped from $6M to $1.4M and straight-through processing rates improved across the portfolio, reducing manual intervention on future transactions.
